Learn to make a fun knitted hat for yourself or a friend in this multipart class! This project is perfect for knitters who are comfortable with the basics and are ready to expand their skills. You’ll create a stylish hat using two straight needles—no need for circular needles or knitting in the round. Everyone learns and knits at different speeds, some like homework, and others not so much! Most students find that with completed homework, they need two class (2) sessions of 2 hours to complete the knit cap. You can book more or less as needed! Pattern and instructions will be distributed during your first class and also available by email if needed. What You’ll Learn: Increasing and Decreasing Stitches: Master these essential techniques to shape your hat beautifully. Hat Construction on Straight Needles: Learn how to knit a hat without using circular needles. Finishing Techniques: Discover how to seam your hat for a polished look. Skills Needed: Basic Knitting Skills: You should be comfortable with casting on, the knit stitch, and the purl stitch*. *If you feel you need to brush up on your basic skills check out our Introduction to Knitting Class! Materials Needed: Knitting Needles: US size 6 and size 7 straight needles. (Available for purchase at the studio if needed.) Yarn: One skein of worsted weight or #4 yarn in a color of your choice.
