Lightweight HDPE Hula Hoop

Lightweight HDPE Hula Hoop

Discover a Whole New Style of Hooping If you’ve been learning with one of my Beginner Hoops, you’re about to discover that hula hooping is so much bigger than waist hooping. A Lightweight HDPE Hoop opens the door to off-body flow, involving tons of tricks like tosses, body rolls, isolations, ghosting, breaks, paddles, folds, and so much more. It feels lighter in your hands, responds more quickly to your movements, and makes it easier to explore off-body movement. Is This the Right Hoop for You? Could this be your very first hoop? Absolutely. Would I usually recommend it? Probably not. For most beginners, a larger Beginner Hoop is still the easiest and most encouraging way to learn basic hooping. But if your main goal is to explore only off-body tricks, or you’re naturally small in stature and can comfortably waist hoop with a smaller, lighter hoop, this may be a wonderful place to begin. There’s no single “right” path through hooping. The best hoop is the one that you keep picking up to practice and flow every day! 3/4″ or 5/8″ Tubing? You’ll notice in the drop down menu we offer 3/4″ and 5/8″ in several different colors. These numbers describe the thickness of the tubing itself. If you’re buying your first Lightweight HDPE Hoop, I almost always recommend 3/4″ tubing. It’s lightweight, durable, and forgiving enough to grow with you as you learn. 5/8″ tubing is thinner, even lighter, and is lightning fast. Many experienced hoopers love it for fast, technical flow and intricate off-body tricks. It’s also a great option for hoopers with smaller hands or smaller frames, since it tends to feel more comfortable and easier to control. As for me? Even after all these years, I still reach for 3/4″ tubing most of the time. I’m a large-framed person, have larger hands, and I personally enjoy the slightly sturdier feel and slower pace. It’s a great reminder that choosing a hoop isn’t about what’s “advanced.” It’s about what feels right for your body and your style of hooping. Your Hoop Collection Will Grow With You If you’re anything like the rest of us, this probably won’t be your last Lightweight HDPE Hoop. Most experienced hoopers eventually build a collection in several different diameters because every size has its own unique personality. Before you know it, you’ll be reaching for different hoops depending on your mood, the music, or the trick you’re practicing. Ask almost any experienced hooper and they’ll tell you the same thing: hoop collections have a funny way of growing over the years! It’s all part of the fun and magic! Built to Last Every Lightweight HDPE Hoop is handcrafted to order right here in North Carolina using durable HDPE tubing that’s designed to last for years. Like all of my hoops, it collapses down to about one-quarter of its full size. This makes it super easy to take with you to the park, the beach, festivals, vacations, or wherever your hoop journey leads. Click here for an instructional video. Ready to Learn?
